'A Journey Through Drugs Treatment'

Learn more about drug intervention work

An open day takes place later this month where people can find more out about the work being done to combat drug dependency and drug related crime in Wandsworth.

The event is called 'A Journey Through Drugs Treatment' and runs from 10am to 1pm at Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill on Tuesday 19 October.

Representatives from the different organisations involved in drug intervention work will be on hand to answer questions including specialist drug services, Wandsworth Council, NHS Wandsworth, the police, the probation service and the magistrates' courts.

Several people who have successfully overcome drug problems will also be present to explain how they managed to rebuild their lives with help from the various support services.

Wandsworth Council's community safety and health spokesman Cllr James Cousins said:
"This event is for anyone who wants to understand more about the help and support available to people whose lives are being blighted by drug addiction. It's also a valuable opportunity for the different professionals working in the field to share their knowledge and experience."
