Community and voluntary organisations across Wandsworth are being invited to apply for funding from a new £405,000 grant pot designed to expand access to sport, physical activity and wellbeing initiatives.
The funding, raised entirely from charges on property developers, will be reinvested into local infrastructure and services without adding to Council Tax bills. Two schemes — the Community Access Grant and the Women and Girls Grant — have been launched as part of the council’s Wandsworth Moves Together strategy, which aims to make physical activity more inclusive, accessible and sustainable.
Paul White, Wandsworth’s Cabinet Member for Environment, said, “We have launched these two grant schemes to help remove barriers to local people getting active and make sure everyone has the chance to enjoy the benefits of sport and physical activity. These are paid for in full by levies on property developers building in Wandsworth, meaning we can deliver local benefits without adding a penny to your Council Tax. Whether it’s a new programme in a local school or improvements to a community sports facility, we want to support projects that make a real difference.”

How to Apply
Applications are open to community and voluntary sector organisations, including charities, trusts, schools, colleges and universities. Each grant stream has specific eligibility criteria and deadlines, and successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of expenditure and impact.
The council hopes the schemes will encourage innovative projects that make sport and physical activity more accessible across Wandsworth, ensuring residents benefit directly from the borough’s growth and development.
