Nominations Open for Wandsworth Moves Together Awards

Wandsworth residents are being invited to shine a spotlight on the people, clubs and organisations who help keep the borough active, as nominations open for the Wandsworth Moves Together Awards 2026.
Run annually by Wandsworth Council, the awards celebrate the coaches, volunteers, schools, athletes and community groups who make sport and physical activity an essential part of life across the borough. Whether it’s a coach who goes the extra mile, a volunteer who keeps a club thriving, or a young athlete achieving remarkable things, the awards offer a chance to recognise those whose efforts help build healthier, happier and more connected neighbourhoods.
The council is encouraging residents to put forward individuals and groups who inspire others to get moving—whether through grassroots sport, inclusive community programmes or outstanding personal achievement. The awards highlight contributions at every level, from those nurturing future talent to those creating welcoming spaces for people of all ages and backgrounds to be active.
This year’s categories include:
- Club/Organisation of the Year
- The Mayor’s Award
- Volunteer of the Year
- Outstanding Contribution to Sport/Physical Activity
- Active Communities Award
- Young Volunteer of the Year
- Active School of the Year
- Coach/Instructor of the Year
- Junior Sports Person of the Year
- Sports Person of the Year
Shortlisted finalists will be announced in September, ahead of a special awards ceremony later in the year celebrating the borough’s outstanding contributors to sport and physical activity. The event will also showcase inspiring local stories and encourage more residents to explore the wide range of opportunities available to stay active across Wandsworth.
Nominations are now open, giving residents the chance to say thank you to the people who make a real difference to community wellbeing.
