Victim Named In Battersea Park Road Fatal Collision


78-year-old Lionel Butler was hit by a cement mixer

Detectives from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have named the victim of the fatal collision which took place in Battersea Park Road in January as Lionel Butler.

Police were called just before 10.30am on Thursday 26 January to the junction with Cabul Road, to reports of a road accident involving a pedestrian and a cement mixer.

The pedestrian, a 78-year-old Mr Butler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the events leading up to the collision to come forward.
