Five-year-old in critical condition in hospital

A 5-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Wandsworth on Tuesday afternoon (24 May).

He was riding on a scooter when he was involved in a collision on Herondale Avenue, a residential road near Wandsworth Common, shortly before 3.58pm.

The boy was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical. His parents are with him.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries although no arrest has been made.

Detectives from the Met's Roads & Transport Policing Command are investigating and would like to hear from any witnesses or drivers with dash cam footage of the incident.
